Drinking in Downtown Phoenix: Little Rituals Bar

Tucked away in Downtown Phoenix on the 4th floor of the Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott sits a diamond of the craft beverage world, Little Rituals. Named one of the finalist for Best U.S. Hotel Bar in Tales of the Cocktail’s annual Spirited Awards, Little Rituals has clearly set itself apart from the pack for its attention to detail and creative presentation.

After stepping off the elevator, and checking with the hosts, the metal beaded curtain parts to reveal a a spectacular view of the Footprint Center and the surrounding downtown area. Gorgeous sparkling starburst chandeliers illuminate seating areas on either side of the bar, giving the bar its swanky sauce. Owner Aaron DeFeo and his bartending team here are known for their expertise and passion for mixology, and are always happy to offer recommendations based on individual tastes and preferences.

Little Rituals recently rolled out several new cocktails, all beautifully represented in a book-like menu, including innovative sips for mocktail lovers, featuring several cocktails with low-alcohol and non-alcoholic versions, offering something for everyone. The food menu is equally impressive, with small plates and shareable dishes inspired by global flavors.

Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or simply looking for a unique and enjoyable experience, Little Rituals is a must-visit destination in Downtown Phoenix. With its innovative menu, stunning views, and exceptional service, it's no wonder this hidden gem has been recognized as one of the best hotel bars in the country. I highly recommend making a reservation and adding this to your beverage bucket list.

What I had-

Bites:

  • House made “Parker House” Rolls with Pandan Vanilla Butter. (This is one of those moments where you don’t want to skip the bread! Boozy Brown Girl came in with the clutch tip: place your butter cup upside down in the middle when it comes out piping hot so that the ridiculously tasty butter melts down and starts to work it’s magic with the bread. Game changer)

  • Claypot Wings in a Vietnamese caramel sauce and pickled chilis. A fantastic balance between sweet and a little heat (perfect for this admitted spice wuss).

  • Disco Fries (or as I like to call them Not-your-daddy’s-poutine) with melt in your mouth brisket, cheese sauce, pickled chilies, and their stupid good Pho sauce.

Sips:

  • Forbidden Love. A drink that screams summer sipper with Kikori Rice Whiskey, Joto Umeshu Sake, Lacto plum, Benedictine, Yuzu with lemon, Angostura.

  • In Love with the Cocoa. A heavy sipper, it’s a beautiful cocktail that would be the perfect wrap up to your evening, with Abasolo Ancestral Corn Whisky, Sonicated Wild Cacao

  • , Damiana with Vanilla, Chocolate Bitters, Coconut and Sea Salt.

  • Mr. Hollywood. A gorgeous cocktail made with Remy Martin Cognac, Park Pineau de Charentes, Sweet Onion Cordial, Lemon, Tattinger, and served with a homemade potato chip, Crème Fraise and caviar.
